Friday 27th October marked Day 3 of Lagos Fashion Week 2023, with XRetail at Zinkata & Vanestyle still on as well as SwapShop. On the streets of Lagos, showgoers continue to show out in style with some extraordinary trends.
Monochrome Looks ranging from black were spotted vividly on the street-style scene. From ruffles in the highest volumes to embellished fringe overall, and three-piece suits. Also the “Barbiecore” aesthetic, an all-pink look was spotted, in addition to some eye-catching color-blocking.
During the Lagos Fashion Week 2023 runway show, Multi-communication brand, MTN Nigeria in partnership with Lagos Fashion Week announced the winner of the Yello-verse Digital Fashion Show. The winner received the sum of One Million Naira.
Day 3 Runway Highlights
1. Cute Saint
Last year, Cute Saint opened their show dramatically with the Eyo masquerade- a nod to the city of Lagos. This year, the brand returns with its 2024 Transeasonal collection. A female model rocking a swimwear piece paired with a glove opened the show, what followed next was an array of bodycon tops, crop blazers, gowns, and baggy pants in black denim. Overall, the collection was very fresh and gender-bending.
2. piiLLz N PoiZn
piiLLz N PoiZn is a Nigerian womenswear brand, after making its debut at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, the brand made its way to LFW for its SS4 collection which expressed modern-day femininity in every way possible. Pieces from this collection were made with soft and intricate fabrics resulting in an array of diverse silhouettes. Nigerian artiste Maire performed as the models hit the runway.
3. LFJ
Following a successful debut at New York Fashion Week, LFJ known for its artistic pieces returns to the runway of Lagos Fashion Week 2023 to showcase its “Under Sea collection”. The collection felt very couture-like and theatrical. The pieces were soft and lush alongside headpieces like hats and masks.
4. Ugo Monye
To close Day 3 of LFW, Ugo Monye this season delivered its most dramatic and epic collection yet. Known for implementing traditional craftsmanship in its pieces, its SS 24 offering traditional menswear was delivered with a modern-day feel. There were multiple layers of fabrics, flowy agbada, and caps to complement each piece. Show-goers gave an astonishing standing ovation for the collection.
6. SVL Design
2022 Green Access finalist, SVL Design returns to Lagos Fashion Week to flex another diverse collection. After successfully depicting sustainable fashion last year, the brand returns with another body of design that explores more patchwork with a streetwear touch.
7. Kente Gentlemen
From Cote d’Ivoire, Kente Gentlemen is an ethical African fashion brand. The brand’s SS 24 collection tagged “A Woman Wearing A Suit” is a nod to women in suits, the collection also depicts how suits can be made and worn in different forms. Suit pieces consisted of well-tailored two and three pieces alongside exaggerated collars, with beautiful African prints.
8. Kiki Romeo
Kiki Romeo returns to the LFW runway this season with the collection titled “EWALA”. Pieces were created in the brand’s hand-printed fabrics The collection was vibrant, quite androgynous, and experimental.

Fashionistas will yet again gather at the Lagos Fashion Week Tent for the SS24 runway shows of Emmy Kasbit, Desiree Iyama, Lila Bare, FIA, Heru Shezi, Oliva Kenya, Adama Paris, Gozel Green, Nkwo, Eki Silk, Lush Hair and the Green Access Finalists: By Wuzzy, BornstarNG, E.S.O by Liman, Ajanéé and Dust of the Earth.
