“Something Like Gold” kicked off its theatrical run at the Nigerian box office with a gross of ₦11 million. This romantic movie made its debut on September 29, 2023, and during its opening week, it secured the third position.
The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) reported that “Something Like Gold” accumulated a total gross of ₦11,074,200 million between September 29, 2023 and October 1, 2023.

The movie revolves around the love story of a woman who finds love anew after being stood up at her wedding. Her journey includes navigating a new life following the seizure of her father’s wealth, leading to valuable life lessons and the rekindling of love.
Directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by Sandra Okunzuwa, who also stars in the movie, the film boasts a talented cast including Mercy Johnson, Kunle Remi, Tope Olowoniyan, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, Timini Egbuson, Teniola Aladese, Broda Shaggi, Waliu Abayomi Fagbemi, Bela Salami, and Ebere Doris Okorie.
In fifth place on the box office chart, is “A Weekend To Forget“, which earned ₦5,913,500 million in its second week at Nigerian cinemas. Having debuted the previous month, it has gathered a total gross of ₦23,967,350 million between September 22, 2023 and October 1, 2023.

On the other hand, “Charlie and the Boys“, a heist adventure featuring Kanayo O. Kanayo (Charles Omokwe (Charlie Fingers) in the movie) as the lead character, made its theatrical debut on September 29, 2023. It recorded a total of ₦910,250 thousand during its opening week, securing the 11th position at the Nigerian box office.
Directed by Sele Got, the cast of “Charlie and the Boys” includes Tina Mba, Sani Mu’Azu, Seun Ajayi, Loud Voice, Erica Opia Bale, Lantana Ahmed, Gloria Lemmy Johnson, Folake Akinfewa, Ozioma Onodigbo, Fredrik Skog, Mårten Skog, and Peter Sivlér.
