Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, has aired his stand regarding the issue of conducting a paternity test for Liam, Mohbad’s son. In an interview with BBC Pidgin, the grieving parent shed light on his relationship with his late son, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad).
When asked about his thoughts on the ongoing clamour for a DNA test on Liam, he emphasized the importance of doing what is right in this situation, stating,
“This has become a common occurrence, not just in Nigeria. Therefore, the correct procedure should be followed at the appropriate time.”
This controversy has arisen due to the insistence of people on social media for a paternity test and speculations surrounding the fidelity of Mohbad’s 24-year-old widow, Omowunmi. Consequently, it has sparked a widespread online debate about the ethics of such DNA requests, with some believing it’s necessary and others deeming it insensitive.
