The 66th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, are currently considering 65 reggae albums for potential nomination in the Best Reggae Album category.
Notable contenders in the Best Global Album category include Stephen Marley with his acclaimed “Old Soul“, Shaggy with the soca-influenced “In the Mood“, and Morgan Heritage with “The Homeland“.
Other noteworthy artists being considered are Burna Boy, Baaba Maal, Davido, Stonebwoy, and Wizkid.
A very important thing to note is that the eligibility period for the 2024 Grammys encompasses recordings released between October 1, 2022, and September 15, 2023, with only those commercially released in the United States being eligible.
The first round of voting for nominations commenced on October 11, and the Recording Academy has announced key dates and deadlines for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
The official nominees for the 2024 Grammys will be revealed on Friday, November 10, 2023.
The 66th Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM (LIVE ET) and from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM (LIVE PT).
Additionally, the ceremony will be available for streaming on Paramount+ in real time. SHOWTIME subscribers can access the live stream, while Paramount+ Essential subscribers can view the event on demand the day after the special airs.
The 66th Annual Grammy Awards are highly anticipated, as they recognize the best recordings, compositions, and artists from the eligibility year, as determined by the members of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
