Tiwa Savage has been invited to perform at King Charles III coronation.
The historic event will occur at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Tiwa Savage will be joining a star-studded lineup of performers, who will amuse guests during the coronation concert and Big Lunch on Sunday, May 7, 2023, including Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang, Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs.
After his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away, King Charles III and his Queen Consort, Camilla, will officially ascend to the throne during the coronation ceremony.
Tiwa Savage was picked as one of the few African singers to perform at the historic coronation concert, according to a statement issued by the organizers.
“We are excited to announce that Tiwa Savage will be performing at the coronation concert alongside other world-class musicians. Tiwa Savage is an exceptional artiste with a unique blend of African and Western sounds. We are confident that her performance will add colour and excitement to the event”, the statement read.
Numerous street parties will be held throughout the UK as part of the celebrations, along with a volunteer recruitment drive.
