Spotify organised an enjoyable day of painting and socialising for media personalities and influencers to celebrate “Daylist.”
On Thursday, April 11, Lagos experienced a burst of music and artistic expression at Spotify’s sip and paint event, inspired by their dynamic daylist playlist.
Excitement filled the air as guests arrived, eager to tap into their creative sides.
The Spotify daylist playlist, renowned for adapting to listeners’ moods throughout the day, set the perfect backdrop for the event. Attendees enjoyed refreshing drinks while moving to tunes curated by DJ Kizzy, mirroring the daylist experience.
Michelle Atagana, Spotify’s Head of Communications and Public Relations for Sub-Saharan Africa, took the stage to introduce the daylist feature, likening it to a “musical chameleon” for its versatility.
She also shared insights, revealing Nigeria’s significant rise in streaming, ranking second in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a remarkable 1326% increase since its launch in March, particularly noting Lagos’s impressive 1411% surge.
The new Spotify “Daylist” playlist offers diverse vibes, catering to the unique music preferences of listeners for different moments and days of the week.
Inspired by the ever-evolving nature of the “Daylist,” guests engaged in colourful painting while enjoying music and drinks.
The Spotify daylist party marks the first event of 2024, following the Wrapped Party in December 2023, which featured headliners Davido and Adekunle Gold. It reflects Spotify’s dedication to nurturing music streaming in Nigeria by supporting artists and creative communities of all kinds.
