Disney Releases The Official Trailer/Poster For ‘Aladdin’

Disney has released the poster and official trailer for the “thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation” of its animated classic, “Aladdin”.

“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.

The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders.

The movie was directed by Guy Ritchie, written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”

“Aladdin” is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, with Kevin De La Noy and Marc Plattserving as executive producers.

Aladdin opens in theaters on May 24th.

This December, Disney is releasing a brand new chapter in the beloved Lion King story. Thirty years after the original animation stole our hearts in 1994, “Mufasa: The Lion King” arrives as a prequel. It will take us back to explore the origins of the mighty king himself.

This isn’t just another Lion King movie though. “Mufasa” is an animated musical drama that dives deep into Mufasa’s past. It reveals the friendships, relationships, and defining moments that shaped him into the wise and courageous king we all know.

Barry Jenkins directed “Mufasa: The Lion King”.

He is the Oscar-winning director behind powerful movies like “Moonlight” and “If Beale Street Could Talk.” The script comes from Jeff Nathanson, who also wrote the 2019 live-action adaptation. Together, they aim to expand the Lion King universe while staying true to the magic of the original story.

The movie will follow Mufasa’s journey from a helpless orphaned cub to one of the greatest rulers the Pride Lands has ever seen. We’ll gain new insights into his character and the dynamics of the animal kingdom. This includes his complex relationship with his younger brother, Taka.

Angel Unigwe’s Manager Calls Out Kanayo O Kanayo For Acting Unprofessionally

Angel Unigwe's manager calls out Kanayo O Kanayo | Fab.ng

Chief Juliet Kings, the manager of Angel Unigwe, issued a statement. The statement addresses claims made by Nollywood actor and filmmaker Kanayo O. Kanayo. He made the claims in an Instagram video on June 21, 2024.

In the statement released on June 24, Kings voiced disappointment with Kanayo’s video. In the video, Kanayo accused Unigwe of professional misconduct. He threatened to disrupt future film sets where she is scheduled to work.

“It therefore came as a rude shock to learn of and, more importantly, watch and listen to the false, unfounded and slanderous statements attributed to Mr Kanayo in the video in question, calling into question our professional ethics and, more importantly, threatening the very safety and right to dignity of Miss Unigwe, by threatening to disrupt and cause chaos at any set where she intends to work.

“These statements and threats, disseminated via video and social media platforms, are tantamount to an attempt at cyberbullying, they are entirely unfounded and have caused significant emotional distress to Angel and I,” Kings stated.

The manager said those accusations from Kanayo O Kanayo weren’t true.

The manager gave a lot of details about what happened while they were filming the project. This is to explain their side of the story. They specifically talked about things that happened between June 17th and June 19th.

The manager said Angel Unigwe joined the film project. They both agreed on exactly what she would do and how the filming would go.

“As a background to the events that led to this, between the 17th of June 2024 and the 19th of June 2024, Miss Unigwe participated in a film project under clear and agreed terms, most important of all being a daily wrap time of 9 pm.

“Despite our concerns about the feasibility of filming fifty-seven (57) scenes in three (3) days, we proceeded based on the assurances we received from Mr Kanayo O. Kanayo and his director, in person of Ndifreke Matthew, that the three days period will be sufficient for shooting and that the talent’s shooting time of 12 hours starting from 9 am to 9 pm is acceptable to them, moreso there will be no extension considering her prior engagement,” Kings stated.

The manager also mentioned that filming went over the agreed time by 45 to 50 minutes. Still, they didn’t complain. They left the set once everything was shot.

“Upon completion of the shoot, we left the location without protest from the director or the production manager Mr Cosmos Nwaihe, having performed our obligations.”

Furthermore, Kings said what Kanayo did was wrong. He thinks it is because it unfairly targeted someone because of their gender. Kings believes Kanayo should have acted more professionally.

“This situation highlights a broader issue of gender-based oppression, as we have been subjected to derogatory and defamatory remarks simply because we stood our ground and insisted on compliance with the terms of the agreement all parties had freely entered into.

“It is disheartening to see such behaviour in an industry that should be built on mutual respect and professionalism and even more shocking from an individual who we hold in high esteem and is considered a veteran of the industry,” he stated.
