Active Voice Subscribers in Nigeria Dropped By 6.67% In Second Quarter of 2017– NBS

Telecoms data for Q2 2017 reflected that a total of 143,064,490 active voice subscribers as against 153,295,652 in Q3 2016 which represented 6.67% drop in subscribers’ base. Similarly, a total of 92,136,023 subscribers were active on internet as against 93,776,711 in Q3 2016 which represented 1.75% drop in subscribers’ base.

Lagos State has the highest number of subscribers in terms of active voice per State in Q2 2017 and closely followed by Ogun and Oyo States respectively while Bayelsa and Ebonyi States have the least number of subscribers. Similarly, Lagos State has the highest number of subscribers in terms of active internet per State in Q2 2017 and closely followed by Ogun and Oyo States respectively while Bayelsa and Ebonyi States have the least number of subscribers.

In terms of subscribers by Technology, GSM has the highest numbers by active voice. CDMA and Fixed Wired followed closely while Fixed Wireless has the least number of subscribers by technology. Also, GSM has the highest numbers by active Internet while CDMA has the least number of subscribers by technology.

MTN(37.22%) has the highest share of voice subscription and followed by GLO (26.23%), AIRTEL(23.92%), EMTS (12.63%) and Others (0.29%) respectively. Similarly, MTN(34.60%) has the highest share of internet subscription and followed by GLO (29.68%), AIRTEL(22.02%), EMTS (13.70%) and Others (0.59%).

"Everybody Loves Jenifa": New Series Of Jenifa's Diary | Fab.ng

Calling all Jenifa’s Diary fans! Get ready for a fresh serving of laughter with the return of your favourite comedy series. The show is getting a makeover, complete with a brand new name: “Everybody Loves Jenifa.”

This is fantastic news for fans who have been following the hilarious journey of Jenifa since her first appearance in 2008. The character, created by the talented Funke Akindele, proved to be a scene-stealer, and she quickly landed her own television series, “Jenifa’s Diary,” in 2015.

The show chronicled the adventures of Jenifa, a naive yet funny character, and it resonated with audiences, making it a ratings hit.

But the Jenifa series extends far beyond the original series. The character’s popularity spawned a whole franchise, allowing viewers to see different sides of Jenifa.

In 2011, fans were treated to “Return of Jenifa,” a sequel to the original movie. Then came “Aiyetoro Town” (2019), a spin-off series that transported audiences to Jenifa’s village, offering a glimpse into her roots. Even the challenges of a global pandemic couldn’t keep Jenifa down.

In 2021, a special titled “Jenifa on Lockdown” gave fans a hilarious look at how Jenifa was coping with the new normal.

By December 2024, Jenifa would be back for another round of laughs with “Everybody Loves Jenifa.” This new title hints at the universal appeal of the character and the series’ promise to deliver side-splitting comedy once again.

Whether you’re a longtime Jenifa devotee or a new viewer curious about the buzz, “Everybody Loves Jenifa” is sure to tickle your funny bone. So get ready to join the crowd and celebrate the return of this character!

A social media influencer named VeryDarkMan accused Nigerian chef Hilda Baci of scamming people who paid for her online cooking class but never received access.

Hilda Baci, who holds a Guinness World Record, isn’t taking these claims lightly. On April 23rd, 2024, she fought back against the accusations. Baci posted a screen recording of her online cooking class in action. The video showed activity within the online platform, including new students joining, media being shared, and overall engagement—all evidence to counter the claims that the class wasn’t happening.

Nollywood Actor, Zulu Adigwe Has Passed Away

Zulu Adigwe: Nollywood Actor Has Passed Away | Fab.ng

Nollywood is mourning the loss of veteran actor Zulu Adigwe. Adigwe passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, according to a confirmation from movie producer Stanley Nwoko on Instagram.

Adigwe was a familiar face in Nollywood, having appeared in numerous films throughout his career. However, his most iconic role was undoubtedly Mr. B in the popular soap opera “Basi and Company” (1987). “Basi and Company” was a beloved show that helped shape Nollywood in its early days, and Adigwe’s portrayal of Mr. B was a memorable part of the programme’s success.

While details surrounding Adigwe’s passing are not yet public, his death has left a void in the Nigerian film industry. Tributes are pouring in from fans and colleagues alike, all remembering Adigwe’s talent and his contributions to Nollywood.

I regret to announce the passing of a veteran actor, late Mr. Zulu Adigwe. What caused his death is yet to be reviewed. Rest in peace, good actor,” Nwoko said in his post.

At the time of the report, the cause of his death was uncertain.

Adigwe recently portrayed Pascal Nworie in Ramsey Nouah‘s adaptation of the renowned film “Living in Bondage.”

Originally, Adigwe pursued medicine briefly at the University of Austria, where he also completed his primary and secondary education. However, following his father’s passing, he returned to Nigeria and pursued a degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Ibadan.

Throughout his career, Adigwe featured in numerous Nollywood productions, such as “Blood of the Orphan,” “Blood Diamonds,”Face of a Liar,” “Unforgettable,” “Issakaba,” and “Forbidden Land.”
