Written, Produced and Directed by James Abinibi, “Mentally” is the story of a young Nigerian man, Akin, who despite his mother’s warnings, decides to relocate to Lagos where his only friend, Emeka (a former schoolmate) promises him enormous opportunities of having a better life. His first experience in Lagos takes him on a journey – unprecedented, but eventually an eye opener – that makes him re-evaluate the choice he’s just made.

The movie’s star-studded line-up include Frank Donga, Woli Arole, Adekunle Gold, Yaw, Kunle Afod, Toyin Abraham, Soma, Jude Chukwuka, Erick Didie, Sunkanmi Omobolanle, Chris Okagbue and more.

Nollywood director Jade Osiberu announces her latest film project, “Half Of Me.” The talented filmmaker shares exciting details about the upcoming production in an official statement on October 30, 2024.

She confirms active work on this new creative venture, adding to her impressive portfolio of Nigerian cinema.

Jade Osiberu returns to filmmaking after taking a deliberate one-year break. She explains her time away from directing, revealing that she dedicated this period to preparing a special Christmas film. The director uses this time to craft and develop her festive project meticulously.

“If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that when I’m quiet, it means I’m cooking and food is done. I have some exciting news. We made the most beautiful, heartwarming, Christmas film ever and it’s coming to Prime Video this December,” she said.

Osiberu announced her collaboration with an impressive cast for the film. Specifically, she brings together renowned actors and celebrated Afrobeats stars for this project. Additionally, the director expresses her deep gratitude for the opportunity to work with such talented performers.

“It was such an honour to work with some actors who I admired for years and some of the biggest names in Afrobeats cos what’s a detty December film without Afrobeats,” she added.

Osiberu establishes herself as a prominent filmmaker in the Nigerian film industry through successful crime thrillers like “Gangs of Lagos” and “Brotherhood.”
