Nigeria Joins The Rest Of The World To Crown The World’s Best Bartender

It was festival of color, flair and delicious cocktails as the World’s best bartenders converged in Miami Florida to indulge in fine cocktails using some of the world’s best brands and also to choose the Winner for World Class 2016.

WORLD CLASS is a platform that has supported, trained and inspired 250,000 bartenders across the globe over the past eight years, while partnering them with the world’s finest spirits – the Diageo Reserve Collection. WORLD CLASS is also the authority on the drinks industry that consumers look to for information on the latest drinks trends, cocktail recipes and industry insight. World Class also hosts the ‘WORLD CLASS Bartender of the Year’ – the world’s most prestigious bartending competition.

This year, 56 Bartenders from all over the world competed to be crowned the World’s best bartender. Nigeria was ably represented by the Head of Reserve Nigeria, Joe Nazzal, Businessman and Owner of Club Play Abuja, Charles Opaleke, Chairman of Aquila Group, Shina Peller, Owner of Caribbean Abuja, Abubakar Atodo , Onoja Adole, owner of Delphino Entertainment and Reserve Nigeria Brand Ambassador, Stephen Enumah.

According to the organizers, Bartender training programs are already underway across Nigeria’s top bars preparing for the next World Class finals which will take place in Mexico. Nigeria will be participating for the First time!.

Nollywood actress Uzoamaka Onuoha won the Best Female Performance in a Feature award at the recently concluded African Film Festival on November 9, 2024.

This victory adds another accolade to her growing list of achievements, solidifying her status as one of Nollywood’s rising stars.

With over three nominations under her belt this year, Uzoamaka Onuoha truly stood out for her remarkable portrayal in “Agemo”.

Directed by Moshood Abiola Obatula, the film takes viewers on a thrilling journey. It follows the character Agatha navigating a dangerous and enigmatic world.

By highlighting the challenges faced by women, Agemo delves deep into the complexities of power dynamics, manipulation, and the severe consequences of exploiting the vulnerable.

Playing the lead role, Onuoha delivers a powerful performance that captures the character’s resilience and depth. This recognition comes as no surprise given her impressive track record.

This includes standout roles in Inside Life (2022), If I Am President (2018), and Blood Sisters (2022). With each project, she continues to showcase her versatility and dedication to her craft.

Although Agemo initially released its first-look images in December 2023, the full film is set to premiere to the public later this year.

Written by Esther Olayinka, the supernatural feature boasts a stellar ensemble cast. The cast includes Raphael Ayara, Joe Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Mojisola Afolayan, Kola Olaiya, Lawal Aramide Pabira, and Darasimi Madi.

Together, they bring to life a story that explores complex themes and leaves a lasting impact on viewers.
