Maltina Dance All returns with ‘Happiness Amplified’ for Season 9!

Maltina, the premium non-alcoholic malt drink has announced the return of its number one Nigerian family dance show, Maltina Dance All Season 9. The announcement was made at a media parleyevent on Wednesday 3 August, 2016 at the company’s office in Lagos.

The show’s innovative format this season will allow interested families to participate by submitting their dance videos from all across Nigeria on the Maltina Dance All website (www.maltinadanceall.tv).

At the end of Season 9, the winning family will be rewarded with a grand prize of N10 million, while the first and second runners up will receive N3 million and N1 million respectively.

Video submission entries for online audition is on-going and will end on August 19th, 2016 on www.maltinadanceall.tv. The show airs on TV in September 2016.

“I Do Not Come to You by Chance” Film Adaptation – Everything You Should Know

Ishaya Bako, the director of “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel” and “Road To Yesterday,” will direct the film adaptation of Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani‘s award-winning 2009 novel “I Do Not Come to You by Chance.”

Below is everything you should know about the adaptation.

This project secured a spot in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2023 Centrepiece program. This carefully curated selection includes 47 titles from 45 different countries and serves as a platform to honour and celebrate contemporary achievements in global cinema.

The film is set to star Paul Nnadiekwe, who makes his debut appearance on the big screen, alongside Blossom Chukwujekwu. Joining them are Jennifer Eliogu, Sambasa Nberibe, and Beverly Osu. It follows a struggling Nigerian graduate whose seemingly sole option involves assisting his dubious uncle’s fraudulent email scam.

The film presents its story in both English and Igbo, with Femi Awojide taking on the role of Director of Photography.

Speaking on the Centrepiece program, Nataleah Hunter-Young, the TIFF International Programmer for Africa and Arab West Asia, said,

“It’s been an extraordinary year for African cinemas on the international festival circuit, and that continues to be reflected in this year’s exciting line-up of 9 African titles (8 features and 1 short) representing 9 different countries, more so when you include the directors of African descent living and working in the diaspora (Ladj Ly, Noura El Hourch, Mehdi Fikri, Sally El Hosaini).”

Mavin Records Unveils New Artist… Meet Lifesize Teddy

Mavin Records has announced their latest signing, rapper, poet, and singer Lifesize Teddy. This addition aligns with the label’s tradition of nurturing and producing some of the country’s youngest music artists.

Lifesize Teddy joins Ladipoe, Boy Spyce, Crayon, Magixx, Ayra Starr, and Johnny Drille in the Mavin Dynasty.

Label boss, Don Jazzy announced the news in a cinematic video posted on his Instagram. He wrote,

“Unveiling a new artist is a reminder of how an artist has let themselves go through the laid-down process of the Mavin Academy, the testament of our faith in them, and the coming together of our hard work. With the power vested in me by the Supreme Mavin Dynasty, It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Mavin’s latest signee. Rapper, poet, singer, and songwriter Lifesize Teddy.”

The singer will drop her self-titled debut EP, “Lifesize Teddy,” tonight.
