FG Declares July 5th and 6th Public Holiday for Eid El Fitri

Eid EL Fitri. In a statement released by The Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau,The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 5, and Wednesday, July 6 2016 as public holidays to celebrate the Muslim festival, Eid el Fitri.

In the statement was signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Bassey Akpanyung, all Muslims and Nigerians were encouraged to exhibit the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which are love, peace and justice, in their daily living and contribute to the development of the country.

Dambazau also urged all Nigerians to use the opportunity of the spiritual rejuvenation to reflect on the significance of unity and peaceful co-existence in strengthening the bond of togetherness for a strong, virile nation.

“I wish‎ Nigerians a peaceful celebration and urge total support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s avowed determination to bequeath to the nation an enduring political legacy,” he said.

The upcoming movie “Hijack 93: The Mad Men & The Aircraft” have commenced its principal photography.

The amazing news was shared by Charles Okpaleke the co-founder and CEO of Play Network Africa via Instagram along with some pictures from behind-the-scenes, and the upcoming project certainly looks promising.

The movie is based on a true-life story about some teenagers who hijacked a Nigerian airways plane headed to Abuja and diverted it to Niger due to the failed June 12th elections in 1993 which was an attempt to force the government to hand over power to MKO Abiola.

Some cast for the project have been confirmed Idia Aisien and Jemima Osunde. The movie is supported by British Film Institute (BFI) also in collaboration with Play Network Studios and Native Media. The director is Robert O. Peters with Rogers Ofime and Agozie Ugwu as producers.
